Our story
As an entrepreneurial family -first in the hairdressing industry, later in the real estate industry and as owners of an interior
design agency- with two sons, we live a very adventurous life! For a long time we dreamed of selling our house, moving to Ibiza, buying a boat to sail together. As soon as our boys left our home to live on their own, our moment was there. We sold our house and furniture in Mill (Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands) and left The Netherlands in the beginning of 2019. We drove to Ibiza to live a minimalist life, completely & ‘out-of-our-comfort zone’.
Our first time on Ibiza
We visited Ibiza for the first time in 1985. our first holiday by plane! By then Playa d’en Bossa only had a few hotels. The untouched nature, the great beaches and the alternative atmosphere made us come back regularly. A few years later we even started dreaming about living on the island. Sometimes we can hardly believe that this dream has now become reality. From the mountains to the forests, from the forests to the sea; the island is great in every season. We totally fell in love with Ibiza’s nature and the great vibe. Our passion for the sea and the desire to sail together started here.
Close to nature
I used to worry about what clothes to wear and whether my hair and makeup were ok, other things are now much more important. You don’t need much to live a beautiful life. We generate electricity ourselves and desalinate the seawater to be able to drink it. We no longer go to the shop to buy fish, but catch our own for the BBQ on board. A life with and close to nature! For us this is the “TAO way of life”: live happily with the resources you have at that specific moment. Live without worries, but even more important: the journey is more beautiful than the goal. It’s a journey without a final destination. That is exactly who we are, hence the name TAO for our catamaran. It is our wish to share the TAO lifestyle we live with as many people as possible. That’s why we give our guests the opportunity to experience an unforgettable day on our catamaran and a glimpse into our lives.
